SDM Karnah examines the position of stocks of essential products

Srinagar, October 24 (KNS): Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Dr Gulzar Ahmad Rather today called a meeting of relevant agents / officials and gas dealers to review the status of stocks of essential commodities, including ration and LPG supply in the sub-border division before winter.

The meeting was informed that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the border sub-division to meet the needs of the population during the winter season. The stock was dumped for the period up to June 2022, which includes 13,030 quintals of rice, 1,173 quintals of aatta, 122 quintals of sugar, as well as 64,000 liters of kerosene oil and 6,570 bottles of gas are also available in the region.

The meeting was also informed that an additional supply of 20,000 quintals of rice and 24,000 gas cylinders will also be discharged in the coming days to ensure an adequate supply of essential products for the inhabitants of the sub-division.

Meanwhile, the SDM has insisted on the officers and dealers concerned to ensure the availability of a sufficient stock of essential items in the Karnah sub-division which remains cut off from the rest of the district most of the time during the winter period. He ordered them to stockpile an additional supply of the necessary products as soon as possible so that the people could not face any inconvenience.
