Organizers of the Colusa Certified Farmers Market are preparing to host their sixth annual Farm to Fork Dinner on Thursday to showcase the wide array of produce produced in and around Colusa County.
Event organizer Jennifer Diaz says that after struggling to stock up for the event last year, this year has been much easier and those who attend can expect see the little extras that have become synonymous with the event.
“Coordinating events like this means learning to be ready to adapt,” Diaz said. “Every year is different and I am so grateful to the community members who stepped up to help make this event a success.”
Diaz said this year’s party, to be held at Veterans Memorial Park in Colusa, will include a meal using several local produce prepared by Rocco’s Bar & Grill, desserts prepared by Daily Habit, and Pat Myers will again prepare a salad.
“With the lack of employees in the multiple restaurants in our area, I have lost some restaurant stakes, but I am grateful that Rocco’s Bar & Grill is able to pick up the slack and cover the dishes that other restaurants would have prepared,” Diaz said.
A social hour with appetizers and wine will begin at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m.
Admission to the event includes appetizers, wine, bread and olive oil, dinner, entertainment and some souvenirs.
Anyone wishing to attend the dinner can purchase tickets at the Colusa Chamber of Commerce or Colusa Industrial Properties for $50 each. Tickets are also available online at www.ticketstripe.com/colusafarmtofork.
For those looking to bring home some of the delicious local cuisine, the Colusa Certified Farmers Market will be open Thursday at Veterans Memorial Park in Colusa from 4-7 p.m.
